Tjentište is a historical-geographical site in eastern Bosnia, located in the valley of the Sutjeska River. It is approximately one kilometer long and one kilometer wide, with its bottom located at an altitude of around 560 meters above sea level. It is situated between the Prosječenica and Ćurevska gorges, not far from Foca. The Zelengora, Ozren, Milinklada and Ljubin Grob mountain ranges rise above Tjentište, while Volujak, Maglic, Vučevo, Perucica and Dragos Sedlo are on its right side. Tjentište is located within the Sutjeska National Park. In 1971, the Tjentište Memorial Complex was built there, including a monument designed by Miodrag Živković and an ossuary containing the remains of fallen soldiers from the Fifth Enemy Offensive. The names of over 7,000 fallen fighters in the legendary Battle of Sutjeska are inscribed in the memorial museum. During the time of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Tjentište was a well-known tourist destination, also known as the Valley of Heroes.
